3 Card Tarot reading
This reading helps you see the path you are currently on.
This is based on the old idea of ”past, present, future” BUT with a more modern perspective. It doesn’t talk about points in time. It talks about the lessons you learn and your relationship with those points in time.

Q. I don’t have a specific question. I just want to know if I am headed in the right direction in life.
Your cards today are:
Lesson from the past – 9 of wands – “acceptance”
Lesson that is important now – The Magician – “transformation”
Lesson to help move forward – 9 of swords – “useless regrets”
The general pattern shows one major arcana card in the “lessons now” position. The others are of the minor arcana. This has a feel of something building to a crest. What is about to be completed has been a long time coming, will reach a crescendo, and then resolve peacefully, much like a wave on the beach. And it is just a wave, not a crisis or tsunami. There are two “nines” here. Nine has a tradition of symbolizing completion, or a job done well, the good and rightful end to a phase of life or a project. It is a natural completion, not something over-ripe or over-due.
The card of acceptance has the feeling of acknowledging a struggle, as if you have fought a battle, and struggled with your identity both as warrior and survivor. It may have been hard to accept the path you have chosen or the person you have become, but there will be peace if you do.
The Magician card emphasizes this idea of change in self-identity. It may mark a change in your job, or it may mark just a shift in the way you view yourself. You may come to better accept your skills…the feel here is one of changing from seeing yourself as a beginner to seeing yourself as more competent…even a master at what you do. Being the magician card, there is a strong feel of mystic, magic, and spiritual here. In my mind’s eye I see a magician’s hands doing a slight of hand coin trick. There is a sense of allowing yourself fun as well as the big, mystical life lessons, as important as those are. Connections with nature are strong here…something about a breeze at sunset, as if a rain is coming…not with the negative connotations we sometimes give to rainy weather, but something mystical, magical and nurturing, as evening rain gives relief and nourishment in a hot dry summer.
There is a sense of “release old attachments” in this last card. This card strongly reminds me of a quote, I’m not sure where I heard it, but it was something along the lines of “define yourself, don’t let others define you”. If you think of yourself in terms of what other people expect, and what other people define as a “success” you will have regrets. But if you put life on your own terms…think of life in terms of the things you REALLY believe, and cherish, then there will be no regrets at all. In fact, there will be contentment and success. Like Shakespeare said in Hamlet “there is no good or bad except that a man think it so”. Any regrets are just that – shadows of attitude, a by-product of perception. They are empty projections of others expectations on your life…not the substance of your life itself. Step out of the flickering image of those projections, and you still stand, strong and true, untouched by those shadows. Only you can choose to accept regret as part of yourself. “no one can demean you without your consent” as it is said.
Usually I finish with a ‘cold reading’ where any purely intuitive messages can come through. It often starts with colors, in this case, blue – both sky blue and indigo. I leave that to you to understand the meanings. My eye is drawn to the magic wand on the magician card, and here I “hear” (meaning the intuitive impression comes through as words instead of images) I hear “remember your magic” and a montage of songs with the word “magic” in them…like the song “do you believe in magic, in a young girls heart” and “you can do magic” by that 70s group…America? Chicago? and the one from Ghostbusters where the pink and white lights are flying over their headquarters….Now I see an owl. A male figure was holding it and released it to fly straight up in the air. “magic wand and sword are one…male and female alike…sending forth your gifts, receiving the abundance the universe has to give”
And there the energies step back.
