1 Card meditation tarot

This reading is a great way to get to know the Tarot cards.

It is also helpful when you have a specific problem that you want to think about for a time before you act or make a decision.

This reading is intended to give you food for thought. It works best if you are willing to think about the card and “meditate” on its meanings for your for a while. Sometimes it helps to look up the card on your own to find other shades of meaning to really get the most from your card. It is helpful to think of this card in terms of “what is my life lesson today?”

Q. Am I ready to work with spirit guides?

Card: Ace of Cups

Ultimately only you can answer this question. The card itself is tied up with learning to listen to your own intuition and to trust your own inner light and inner guidance. So best advice I can give you right now is to listen to your own best instincts, listen to your own heart: if you feel ready, then it is time.

This card is a card of inner light, and in many ways a card of magnetism. This is a powerful and important lesson. If you let your inner light shine, then the things you want, and need will be drawn to you. This is true of spiritual lessons as well as romantic relationships. Although cups are often associated with romance questions, they also symbolize water and intuition. Here the ace of cups is reassuring you that your own inner light, and inner intuitive guidance IS valid. If you are being drawn to a certain path, it is for a reason. This isn’t to say you will become a great medium, or that you will earn a living doing intuitive work: that is for you to decide. But if you feel ready to work with spirit guides than you are. There are specific things to learn about working with spirit guides that fall outside of the scope of a simple one-card reading, and I would encourage you to work with a teacher, or we can talk about that in detail another time.

Looking at this purely with intuition, I see both the colors gold and blue. The blue is a clear, true blue…not light like the sky or any sort of navy, or aqua. I would associate those with intuitive work. The color yellow or gold is often associated with the solar plexus chakra that supports confidence and self esteem. This reflects the need to set clear, firm intentions and boundaries when doing spiritual work. This is no different than acting as a minister or any other sort of religious work. It is just as valid and deserves the same respect as any other spiritual path.

Blue, especially the darker shades like lapis and indigo, are associated with the third eye chakra, and with intuition. Using colors like this in your clothes and jewelry might help you on your spiritual journey.

I recommend books by Ted Andrews on the subject like “Psychic Protection” and “The Intercession of Spirits”…they are available from the publisher at www.dragonhawkpublishing.com. I don’t mean to sound like a commercial, but these books are the absolute best on this topic in my experience. They have meant a lot to me, so I share their wisdom with you.

I get the mental image of you sipping from a cup…I suspect this is a reminder to nourish yourself and care for yourself as you begin your spiritual work, so that you can be strong, and do good work for others too, if you choose that path.

Don’t forget that a relationship with spirit guides is a relationship…there will be some learning involved, but also emotions, not the least of which is gratitude. This is a loving relationship on both sides. It is important to express your thanks for the guidance and support you receive.

Like I said, the issues of spirit guide work is a complex one, and I strongly encourage to learn more from good teachers and spiritual guides. Thinking about the ace of cups and learning about intuition in general is a good start. Best of luck to you on this new adventure!
