Knights symbolize courage and chivalry: they are warriors, not violent criminals, greedy mercenaries or mindless soldier-pawns. They are like western Samuri, only more egalitarian in their protectiveness. They face terrifying conflict for the love of those they protect, just our military today.
The knight of cups reminds us to be brave in our relationships. Approach them with ethics and compassion and strength. It might be scary to have those heart-to-heart talks, but face the terrifying for the sake of those you love – including yourself. Have that scary conversation, face the hard truths, be honest with yourself and others. It takes the courage of a warrior to pour the cup of compassion on emotionally charged situations.
